New Designs and New T-shirts!

Hello!!!

Glen Landing has been pretty busy getting ready for our two upcoming shows. We are very happy and excited to play at the Puck Live in Doylestown, Pa and then in Cape May withing Cape May Music Conference on Saturday. We are going to say hi to the ocean soon!!

So Dan has been creative for a past few days and he was conceptualizing our new t-shirt designs! The results blew me away!!! The new GL gear is looking great! Check out this design for girl shirts that Dan came up with:

WOW! This is adorable!!! so many cute seals! I love it!!! Where can i get it though? Well, Dan said to come to Glen Landing show.

And today we got them printed and i had a little glimpse of the process! In fact it is so complicated to make a t-shirt and a design on it happen!

I don't know what i like more: a tee or a screen ??!!
Anyway, we got some new awesome gear (very soft and comfy, by the way) with many colors and design! Now you have to come to our show and check it out!

Complimentary BubbleGum everybody!!!!!

Wishing you wonderful Friday and week-end... with Glen Landing!!!!!
Keep it real --

BubbleGum Debut On the Radio!

... That was the most special feeling in the world!

Hello, friends!

Last night BubbleGum was played on the radio for the first time! Thanks to our friend Mike Nigro that we met at the networking event in Delaware this week.

Mike is a DJ at the Graffiti Radio. And our song was played in the program Fresh Picked with Sabrina this Friday evening. Also they played new music from Me and This Army, Edward Sharpe, and the Magnetic Zeros, and more! We loved all the songs that we've heard. That said, this is my favorite radio now!

So we found out on our Facebook page that the song will be played in a few hours. Wow! We got so excited! Tuned in and Mike was hosting a show. He announced that a show featuring new and hot local music will come up next! It was great to hear Mike on air!

Sabrina with "Fresh Picked" takes over and right away we like what we hear. Some real cool tunes. To the middle of the hour WOW we hear a little commercial that played BubbleGum's chorus and then they announced: Stay tuned! BubbleGum by glen landing is coming up soon!!

Me and Dan were driving in a car and listening to the radio. We were arriving to this very nice and picturesque place on the bank of Delaware river, where you can see Philadelphia skyline and planes landing and departing right in front of us out of Philly airport. It was the end of sunset. And we hear the bass line for BubbleGum! Live ! On air!!!

This is how it looked like! We loved the BUBBLEGUM machine that Graffiti radio found for us for our picture!!! Yeah!!!

wow..... the feeling to live for... We felt like little kids, excited and curious how it sounds "on the radio"! Jumping and smiling! Being totally silly!!!! I felt like my singing and yelling on BubbleGum sounded like a little boy was singing it! Had like a hip-hop-ish feel to it :) A-uu!!!

Thank you, Graffiti Radio, Mike Nigro, Sabrina, and Mark Rogers for making this happen!!! To MANY MORE radioplays of BubbleGum. But this first one will always remain special to us.

Thank you for reading!
Enjoy this warm and a little rainy in New Jersey Saturday afternoon !

Hello dear friends!
Hope everybody is enjoying the warm weather ans blooming flowers and trees.
Very beautiful :)

We have some sad news: our show on Tuesday at North Star Bar in Philly was cancelled. Sorry if there is any inconvenience for you... You can catch us later next weekend in Doylestown and in Gorgeous Cape May, NJ by the sea.

I was just listening to MGMT ( love the band very much) and was listening to song and reading lyrics to Electric Feel!! Aaaa! They are so cool ! Love them. So I decided to post the lyrics to our song BubbleGum! Hope you enjoy reading and it will reveal any questions like " exaclty what they are singing about?!"

Also i was listening to the Doors today. Did you guys know that the Doors were the only band using Fender Rhodes Bass piano? Now GL is doing it! I think i can smell my new obsession with this band ...

Ok, now -

B U B B L E G U M by glen landing

You and me
Walking down the street
You and me
Doing shady things

Do you want
To go on a trip with me
Take my hand
And you will see

Chorus: Do you have bubblegum for me?!

Stars shine bright
Into the smokey night
All is right
Up in the Northern lights

Feeling free
So go on and shout and scream
Living dreams
Is magical and real

Chorus: Do you have bubblegum for me?!

Ania: Back To Jerzee!

Privitanne!!! Hello friends!!

Ania is reporting to you!! I am back to New Jersey!

Got in freshly last night! So so many ideas and thought! About life, home, glen landing, countries... It was such a long way!! Although i am quite familiar with it and traveling about 10 000 kilometers seems not that bad :)

Of course, the weather!!! It was very cold in Europe! Snowing a lot and almost every day. Although a few sunny days smelled like spring so much! The snow was melting in the sun, there were puddles of water everywhere. It was joyful to jump around them.

It was interesting to talk to people over there about glen landing and bubblegum! It is very different. People also were mentioning that our first album sounded very "American". Definitely i have not heard songs there sounding like bubblegum. People like our videos, but some of them said they can not understand why we made them. Well, talking about cultural differences!!! So we have to customize our stuff for Russian people a little bit :) and we will do it with pleasure!

Also i was surprised how fast music in general appears over there. For example, on Minsk VH1 i was watching videos of Lana Del Rey and song "Somebody I Used To Know" by Gotye - and then reading in French Vogue about this rock star - Gotye. American culture is very "popular" there too :)))

I saw tonnes of Uggs on girls there :) (those Uggs are real heroes because it is not easy to survive a winter in Minsk). Also only in Minsk you can see a guy with a Roxy backpack :))) Lots of skateboarders - yea-ja - and also people with cool instruments (like all kinds of big and small dudkas)

Well, i got some more stuff for you! And will keep on posting!
Sincerely, Ania

A Video Surprise From Dan and Glen Landing! And some Russian bread!

Hi! Today we have a new video for you!!

Dan is playing our unpublished song "On My Way" acoustically. He keeps it real!

This song was written about 3 years ago and he wrote parts for every instrument for it (guitar, bass guitar, and drums). He recorded it at his home studio and played every instrument on it and did all editing and mixing :))) He has been playing it around at open mics and around friends. I think it is very passionate. My part still to be written.....

I hope you will enjoy it!

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO!!

Meanwhile I am enjoying my time in Minsk. Today in the morning it was 9 F degrees. It was very sunny! And the sky was blue!!!!! Winter can think that it is still in power and can freeze us but spring is IN THE AIR!!!

Place I grew up at! My apartment in Minsk. And these birch trees were small before... Now they are huge!
I love eating all Belarusian and Russian food here! And go food shopping, it is so neat! Especially bread... It is very unique and different from bread in America. It is darker, sometimes almost black in color, more dense, and has very soft inside and crunchy outside!

Russian BREAD and little sweet bread with cheese!!! NIAM - NIAM!!!!

Tomorrow is a Holiday in Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and other countries. It is called 8th of March - National Women's Day!! (It means lost of Russian bread and Russian salad for me!!! ye-ja!!)

I am very excited! I love this holiday!

Hope you are enjoying your day!
Sincerely, your piano girl -
Ania

New Inspiration

Hello-Hello to everybody from the other side of the ocean!

It is pretty cold here, and Minsk pleased us with 2 sunny days! I am spending my time meeting with my friends and making new friends, surfing the net, and enjoying eating all kinds of homemade goodies :)

Yesterday I had a chance to watch a play by Belarus Free Theatre ! It was a unique experience. The Building where the play look place is just an old little house. People were sitting on the floor on the pillows, and actors were playing in front of the people in the same room. The house was full of charisma and charm: old, with white walls and ceiling, and with black painted wooden floor.

Check out a lit cigarette laying on top of the shoe and a cell phone was ringing too...

The play was very passionate! It was depicting some moments of our everyday life in Belarus as well as going back a few decades ago. I really really enjoyed it!!!

I felt connected to the actors  (it was 4 of them). Them and me have chosen the same lifestyle... Travelling, living on the road, giving their heart and soul to people. Also they taught me a lot. About stage, live, myself...

I met so many wonderful Belarusian young people there!!!! I would like to say HI to all of them !!!!!

Wonderful, inspirational day in Minsk.

Thank you for reading!
Sincerely, Ania

We Are Feautured In An Article !!!

Privet vsem!
Hello to everybody!

I am jumping up and down right now! I am so excited because Dtown Magazine published an article about Glen Landing:

GLEN LANDING – ART, CRAFT AND EAR CANDY

Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

The article is amazing!!! I am reading it and it can't be better! We are so thankful to David Pearson  for making it happen for us and to Jack Firneno for interviewing us and writing such an amazing article!!!! I can't explain how happy I am!

You can read the article here!

It is funny because I just published a post about my music school  and Jack is talking about my experiences growing up in Minsk. My mom was glad to read the article too. She was the one I have to thank for playing piano! (She brought me to music school when i was little).

Guys, just chew BubbleGum and everything will be tip-top! Pinky swear!!!!!!!!!

We love you , our friends!

I know that when I am refilling my spirits and get emotionally recharged in my native town, Dan and Scott (a lovely drummer we met recently) are jamming out some new songs nonstop! They are in the same style as Gum, they got same vintage dance feel to them!!!!!!!!!!! I am writing some lyrics... So Glen Landing's kitchen is working full force on the both sides of the ocean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good March 3rd to you!
Sincerely, your fav piano chick Ania

PS: Can anybody tell me if daffodils are blooming yet in Jerzz??!!

My Music School Experience. By Ania

Hello and PRIVET to everybody!

Ania and Minsk are not sleeping and we are going to tell you a story about  my music school!!!

This is my music school, in summer time. Here it is, this yellow old building!!!
I started my first year in Music School # 15 of Minsk when i was 7 years old. I went there for 9 years. My main subject was classical piano. I was going there every day (getting there by trolley!!) after my classes in regular school.

I had classes with my piano teacher Olga Leonidovna 2 to 4 times a week. I was playing sonatas and etudes by major classical composers. Although in my 8th and 9th  years my teacher wanted to make it a little different and I was playing music by composers of 1960-s from Leningrad.

Besides my main class on piano i had solfeggio with a wonderful teacher that i loved, chorus class, and music literature. And i had homework in each class as well. Solfeggio was tough... Especially dictations (when a teacher was playing us a melody line and we had to write it down)

Every year we had exit exams in May. We had to play a concert as our piano class exam (usually 4 different kinds of pieces of music). It was a big deal, and I was practicing for it the whole semester.

I remember that feeling: you are nervous, your palms are cold and sweaty - and it is bad cause the fingers will slide off the keys... All student are dressed up (white shirt and black skirt usually :)))  Then we enter one by one. It is a big auditorium, all teachers and school administration is there (they give you a mark). Then a stage and a grand piano. It did felt like a real concert :)

This is not me, but this how it looked like kinda :)

Thanx for reading!

Snow is falling down pretty in Minsk now!

Remember that you can listen to BubbleGum song on http://soundcloud.com/glenlanding

My warmest greeting to you!
